Into The Void

Into the Void is an immersion into depth, silence, and the unknown. Composed through dense, almost geological layers of dark pigment, the surface absorbs light rather than reflects it, drawing the viewer inward. The texture is heavy and deliberate - built, scraped, and pressed - suggesting erosion, time, and the slow weight of descent.

This work does not seek to depict emptiness, but presence within darkness. The void here is not absence; it is a threshold. A space before form, before language, where identity loosens and certainty dissolves. Subtle tonal shifts emerge as the eye adjusts, revealing that even within darkness, there is movement, tension, and quiet life.

I painted Into the Void as an act of surrender - to uncertainty, to not knowing, to the fertile darkness from which transformation begins. It is an invitation to sit with discomfort, to trust the unseen, and to recognize that what appears impenetrable may, in fact, be the beginning rather than the end.
