Mired in Madness explores the perilous beauty of confronting the unconscious. The figure stands exposed against a turbulent red field, her blue body caught between clarity and dissolution. The third eye opens not as a symbol of serenity, but of excess sight - perception pushed beyond comfort.

Inspired by Jung’s warning that “one does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious,” this work reflects the moment when awareness descends too quickly, without grounding. The gaze is steady yet unsettled, suggesting insight gained at a cost. The body remains poised, but the surrounding atmosphere churns with psychological intensity.

This painting holds the tension between awakening and overwhelm - when intuition deepens faster than the psyche can integrate it. It is not madness as chaos, but madness as immersion: the danger of staying too long in the depths without return.

Mired in Madness asks where wisdom ends and fixation begins, and what it means to look inward without losing oneself.
