The Untouchable Truth
Original Oil Painting on Wood
£777.00
The Untouchable Truth is a diptych that gestures toward the divine - toward Truth - that which exists beyond form, possession, and full comprehension. Across two panels, mirrored figures fold inward, their bodies caught in states of vulnerability and restraint, as if responding to something immense yet unreachable.
The central face emerges not as identity, but as awareness - a witnessing presence through which energy, emotion, and longing descend. This vertical current suggests a movement from the transcendent into the human realm, where truth is felt through the body but cannot be fully contained by it.
The diptych structure reinforces separation and tension: the human condition split between seeking and surrender, closeness and distance, devotion and fear. The figures appear near to revelation, yet unable to grasp it. What is untouchable here is not absence, but excess - a truth so vast it resists embodiment.
In this work, God is not depicted as form, but as gravity - an unseen centre around which the psyche bends. The Untouchable Truth reflects the humility of the human posture before the divine: sensing, aching, witnessing - but never fully holding.
